Pair of ornate rhinestone earrings with the rich, polished look that identifies them immediately as Hollycraft, founded in New York in 1938 and renowned at midcentury for its excellent craftsmanship, sparkling stones, and tasteful ladylike designs. These screwback earrings feature a fancy abstract shape, suggesting a stylized bouquet. A central "ribbon" of pave-set stones is surrounded by 4 large prong-set ovals and 8 round stones - all clear rhinestones with a lovely glimmer. The setting is silver-toned metal, decorated with delicate marcasite-like studding and edge beading. As most Hollycraft jewelry was made with gold-tone metal and colored stones, these earrings are unusual and very collectable.
Very good condition. Slight surface wear. 1 earring missing 1 pave stone, 1 earring missing 2 small round stones.
